Arriving
in Los Angeles from his hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Matthew
has quickly taken a stronghold in the burgeoning music scene,
earning a reputation for knocking out audiences with his raspy
voice and passionate performances. His soulful melodies and deep-reaching
lyrics have landed him on top music showcases like ASCAP'S "QUIET
ON THE SET", THE BEST OF UNSIGNED L.A., and WESTERN BEAT
AMERICAN MUSIC SHOWCASE. Lee was also named a finalist for ACOUSTIC
ARTIST OF THE YEAR by The National Academy of Songwriters.
Recently, Matthew has showcased with his band at the EAT'M FESTIVAL
in Las Vegas and was selected for two solo showcases at the NXNE
MUSIC CONFERENCE in Toronto. He also has been named a top-ten
National Performing Songwriter at the 1999 WILDFLOWER MUSIC FESTIVAL
in Texas, and was the GRAND PRIZE WINNER in the 1999 SIERRA SONGWRITERS'
COMPETITION.
Matthew has worked with a wide range of producers, including Brooks
Arthur (Janis Ian), David Kershenbaum (Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson),
and Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Heart). You can catch Matthew
performing both solo and with his band throughout southern California.

of Matthew's songs. This album casts a spotlight on some fantastic

the versatality and timelessness of Matthew's songs.

Performing Songwriter Magazine selected "Footsteps"
as one of the nation's top twelve independently-released albums
for the year 2000.

Just Plain Folks awarded Matthew "Best Male Singer/Songwriter"
album and named "Someone Like You" the "Best Blues
Song" for the year 2000, and "Songbook" as the
Best Compilation CD for the year 2002.
